a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

If You Haven't Guessed...

I pretty much set my mind on something and do it.  Need something built, I do it, may take me longer but I do get it done.

I needed a hair cut, work six days a week so hard to fit an appointment in.  I am also kinda a I want it now gal.   Got a wonderful pair of utility scissors for Christmas.  These are the cat's meow!  Good for cutting cans, plastic, limbs and I soon discovered they are wonderful on hair.

I am sitting in my corner, in my comfy chair and run my hands through my hair, gosh, sure need a hair cut.  I look around like a stylist is going to jump from behind the table and I spy my wonder shears.  I place my trash can in front of me, grab the dog brush and the shears and go to work.  Now, this is more than likely making you think, how crazy is this person.  Hey, I wanted my hair cut, I used what was handy.

I remember seeing the stylist comb straight up and cut.  So that is exactly what I did.  Then I remembered seeing one just kinda snip into the hair to thin it, I did that too.  Did it all by feel, did not look once into a mirror nor did I worry what it would look like.  I am loving these shears.

I run to extremes with my hair.  If I can get past the awkward stage, I will have long hair.  If not, the shorter the better.  I do not like it anywhere in between.  I have had hair to my waist and have had spiked hair.  I have had crimped, permed, colored, and frosted.  This was when I had time to go to the beauty shop. God frosts my hair now so I have stopped.  My hair grows very fast and in the summer it is up or very short.  I must be getting ready for summer because there is no way I can get a rubber band around any of my hair that is left....I love it!  Even took my own picture...not bad for a dog brush and shears!
Just think of all the money I saved!

You go girl, have fun with it. You did a pretty good job, I can't believe what you do sometimes. But, it makes my world fun, reading about all your funny antics. Have a great day and put away the shears and dog brush, I don't want to come back here and see you shaved your head!!!

Your hair looks great and ready for Summer. What a treasured photo of you and Yoda - just precious. You need to add this one to your sidebar. Enjoy your day.

You are a brave woman. I was gonna make a crack about the dog/you haircut but I won't because that wouldn't be nice and you know I am all about the nice. Right.
I really do think you did a good job. People used to always get hair cuts at home until we created this whole "salon" thing.

I admit to cutting my own hair. It's hard because it's long and very deeply wavy, but the hairstylist always does things that annoy me:
1. Tell me what I want, I can't have "I want layers that start at my cheekbones" She replies "your hair is so long they must be very very long layers"
2. She talks to the other stylist and ignores me.
3. She always take at least 4" off the length when I tell her 1".
4. She forces it to be straight when she's done, though I never wear it that way!

I hate having my hair cut!

You silly duck! Grabbed the dog wonder sheers and a dog brush and just started wackin' away with no mirror. Heck I'd have to have my head shaved if I tried something like that. You look great and ready for warm weather! You crack me up! Heeeheehee!

God bless and have a great Saturday!!!

What a funny story. I admit to having cut my hair a few times myself, usually as an act of desperation. Once I even convinced my husband to let me cut his hair. I had a little accident though and accidentally cut his ear too! Once we got the blood stopped, he said he believed he would be going back to the barber shop from then on.

I don't know if you're braver than me, or just more coordinated, but there's no way I'd try it. I did let Tom cut my hair one time though. Big mistake. I'm like you, either long enough to pull back, or short enough to stay out of the way. Well, Tom cut off a big chunk, but wouldn't even anything up, and I left it like that for a couple months!

Great haircut! Very nice. Your hair is a little shorter than mine. I tried cutting the front with a razor blade. Kinda looks ok. I haven't got brave enough to cut the back yet. I may have pay to get a haircut... or... find a dog brush and some scissors. LOL

..at least I use a mirror...

Great haircut! I let mine simply grow, cut the tips (tips? With hair? The ends, anyway) from time to time and simply put them up in a bun or knot or whatever when they get in the way. I still believe that there is power in women's hair...
