Choosing A Different Path

Today, bright and early, I chose a different path for my Sunday walk. The dogs and I headed up the road, off the farm, away from the valley.  The dogs kept looking at me as if to say, are you sure?  We're not supposed to go this way.
The dogs didn't smell the flowers,
but they did smell every thing else.
Oh, the sights you see when you walk slowly and enjoy.  The edges of the road were as beautiful as any garden.
We climbed the hill
to greet the morning's sun.
and the best light for photographs.
The sky's beauty changed quickly.  We left the valley with only a sliver of sun, climbed and watched it shine through the trees, only to top the hill and view the sun in all its morning glory.
and headed down the hill for home.

I'll be needing a place to lay my head. I'll just bring a tent if that's alright with you. I have got to go on one of your morning walks!

A path well chosen. What on earth is that hairy clematis looking flower?

What a wonderful walk. Sometimes the best thing is to explore a different path. Will give you a fresh new perspective, too.

What flower is in that 4th photo down. Looks like a Chilily art glass sculpture! Gorgeous!

Thanks for taking us on a walk with you, Gail. : )

I can just picture the dogs confusion at taking a different path. Animals get so used to routine, don't they? I suppose that we do too though.....

I love your Sunday walk and photos. I, too, wonder what that star shaped flower is - I've never seen any thing like it! Your sunrise photo is gorgeous!

You paint a lovely picture with your words and I found myself wanting to talk beside you.

Continue to enjoy those walks and your nature jaunts and keep us informed.

I love the way the sun came up. Thank you for this walk. I'm envious of you. You have so many places to go to with the dogs.

I'm always surprised at the wonders we see whe we take the time to slow down and SEE what is right by our feet. Even better when we can sit down in one place and observe - quietly - everything that is around from the very small to - well, medium large. Perhaps one such thing was watching a war - complete with a sophisticated battle plan - fought by ants. Nature is magnificat in it's versitility. ATB!
