a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Diamond "Stick" Lil

There she is looking for a stick, any stick will do.  If she can carry it, she thinks I can throw it.  Lil has dragged "sticks" to me before and expected me to throw them.  I would say, when she is not working cattle and horses, this lady has a problem!
Note the mouth,
it bears a stick!
Note the stick on her forelegs!
...looking for a stick.
...finding a stick
Looking for a stick...
did I surprise you with this one?
As long as this lady works the stock,
we will bear with her obsession.

She is one special girl and a beauty.

My dad's dog (she was about to be killed at a shelter last year when he got her) collects rocks. I guess she carries them in her mouth. She was a hard case at first not wanting human contact. (If you want to read about Heidi, you can get to his site from mine.)

What a cool dog! I sooo love, watching dogs herd livestock on TV. Our trainer has herding dogs and she is about to purchase sheep to train a new pup on, I hope, she'll invite me over...

The best thing people can do woth their dogs is to figure out what they do best and expand on it.

Thanks for sharing Diamonds favorite thing to do.

Any pup/hound/dog that likes sticks is OKAY by me. I love all canines. Cool pics. Thanks
Whenever I want to get away from the cyber world and relax, kick-back, and remember the real world I come to AT THE FARM!

That is her relaxation from herding. :) Mine tries to play with two of everything at the same time. :D

You have a great day.

I met a dog once who was obsessed with playing fetch. If the dog was awake she was pestering someone with a stick. She had a litter of puppies which she ignored for 'stick'. they had to lock her in a room alone with her puppies to get her to let them nurse.

Well, life just can't get any better! You've got a beautiful dog, a hard worker and it's entertainment is cheap! What fun!

You have yourself a beautiful day girl!!!

She's a cutie! I have a Border Collie who I swear has OCD. He likes toys but only certain toys. We play frisbee every morning and he will only chase one of the 2 frisbees. Silly Dog!

A stick in the mouth is worth two in the bush? Ha!
