a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

I Watched A Butterfly Yesterday...

and no matter how I moved,
it would not go away.
It fluttered by,
low and high,
I moved
but it would not go.
I watched a butterfly
It hovered with nothing to say.
I watched and cried.
knowing not why,
it didn't fly away.
I watched the butterfly
and remembered,
long ago, this day, Dad died.

Dad was always a Cayce fan,
a believer of things rare,
maybe, just maybe...
Dad sent the butterfly here.

Aww, I think he did.

I'm glad you are remembering. That is the best tribute...to be remembered.

Gail I know that my parents, both Mom and Dad, "visit" me occasionally. Perhaps it's their spirit or perhaps it's just their memory, but whichever it is I'm glad to have the reminders. blessings, marlene

So many things can happen in one day. Sometimes it's hard to decide how to feel about each one. Too often it is easier to just hurry through to dark.

your butterfly is gorgeous. you know it's funny... once i was hiking in the grand canyon after my grandfather died & i had a butterfly that seemed to be following me. i had that same thought you did about your dad.

That is just beautiful. Maybe your Dad did. I love when things like that happen. It is really special. I think you needed just that little bit after your very busy and hard weeks. Just a simple, loving miracle just for you.

Isn't it wonderful how God send us comfort even when we don't expect it.

What a beautiful way to remember your dad. I'm thinking that he not only sent the butterfly, but he also enjoyed the thought.

What a nice poem! It's meaningful to me, too, because we have this thing in our family....every time we see a butterfly we think it's our father coming down to visit us!
