Monday was a beautiful day and since I worked my tail off yesterday, I decided to do something I enjoyed. For me, that is taking a walk and getting reconnected.
The day began cool and the weather WAS perfect. The sun peeks through the tree limbs, promising a warm day. We got lucky, the clouds moved in and the monster heat we were having didn't make it today.
We walked to the creek and continued to fern gully or that is what I call it. It is a set in area that channels the water from the mountain. Ferns love it here and so do we. The earth is rich with mulch and the loamy soil smells so sweet. It is just a peaceful place to visit.
Returning, I tried to capture the skies reflecting in our spring. I did not do so well. The trees reflected but the clouds have ripples.
Right after this awesome photo of a spider...can you see him?...my camera committed suicide. Jumped right into the water with no help from me. I recovered it quickly but it said, lens error, no shit!
I removed the battery, the disc and have placed it in the sun, hoping it will resuscitate itself. I tried the battery a minute ago, the lens opened and is full of water. If I can get it to work, this will be my special effects camera...looking through water! No, gonna leave it in the kitchen window and hope the water leaves.
You may be wondering how I saved these pictures. Marcy's and my camera have the same disc so I used hers to download mine.
The moral to this story is...I should have been working instead of playing!!

You've got to have a play sometimes, shame about the camera though. The second cell phone I had ended up at the bottom of a canal after slipping out of my hand. It's amazing how these things seemt to happen when near water.
Oh NO! Say it ain't so! We must have pictures! Just explain how much your followers love to experience farm life vicariously via your pictures accompanied by your poetic words---it'll understand. I hope.
Maybe some counseling???
I dropped my phone into some water. They said to put it in a bag of dry rice for a week.
Unbelievably, it worked! Sorta... sometimes it gets a bit cranky, but for the most part it's OK.
Maybe that would work with cameras that try to take the plunge.
oh no! Say it isn't so..Rice..yes it might work..it works on cell phones..it is worth a try...but i bet you have to go camera shopping.:(
No....the moral of the story is....you shouldn't be taking pictures of a damn spider! See how wonderful the camera worked on the other photos? Case closed!
My biggest fear happened to you. I don't know where I would be without a camera. Certainly not blogging. I hope it dries out - it should.
Or take pictures where there aren't any ghosts....
Oops.
Hope your camera recovers!
=)
I've never heard of the rice trick but it sounds like it OUGHT to work - not to say that it will but surely worth a try. blessings, marlene
Good to know I'm not the only klutz on the interwebs. I dropped my first point and shoot about two years ago and cracked the lens. I also dropped a cell phone into a quart of water. Don't ask.
I'll be interested to know if the rice trick works.
That's terrible. I'm sorry for you and for me because you have such pretty pictures for me to feast my eyes upon.
I hope you try the bag of rice. I'd be interested to know if it works besides taking it apart as much as possible and letting it dry. It would be too bad if your camera were ruined. You took such nice pictures with it. Fern hollow seems like a nice place.
Oh, that's terrible! Well, I hope if you can't get it working again, you're able to get a new one soon. I really enjoy your pictures!
Rice, works great to dry batteries I don't know about camera lens though. Might be worth a try.
If all fails ,hey here's your chance to up grade !!!!
Blessings
Marilyn
