Sunday Excitement...Part Two

These are from Marcy's perspective.  The approaching storm is beautiful.  We can hear the roar above us.
The water was beginning to run into the basement.  As you can see my hero watching me risk life and limb to open a spill way with A MOP!
My flip flops came off. I threw them toward the basement and opened a spillway quite well, I think for an old fat lady.  I'm wondering why I even bothered with an umbrella.  I guess I was just using that for a lightning rod!
Andrew in the dark basement played guitar.
Part of the aftermath.
Glad to get some rain.

its pretty cool the resiliency of children...in the midst of it all he sits down and plays guitar...that is cool to me...and hope not too much water got in the basement...

Doubly glad you're all okay.
Hope they got some rain further North, too.

Wow that's a lot of water. We only got about 1/2" of rain out of the system by the time it got here but we needed it badly. Glad you all are safe and glad you got some rain.
Blessings

I'm not used with storm, and bit nervous about that thing. I feel worry seeing you outside your safe place. Good to know you'll still strong that chores alone.

Looks like you got the brunt of it. I thought we were in for a snow storm, but that fizzled too. We are surely in a bad drought in my area- a good soaking rain would be nice. (ditch the umbrella!)

That's a small river running through your yard " A River Runs Through It" came to mind, when I saw all that water. I just love that photo of you with the umbrella in one hand and the broom in the other. Hope your basement did not get much and was swept away in time. Great photos Marcy - love storm clouds - really nice pictures.

Almost hard to imagine the drought you've been through looking at those photos!

Merry Christmas, my friend.
