a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Dear God, (Sometimes A Post Needs To Be Shared Again)

We have some dry places out there that really need rain.  I'm not complaining so please don't stop my rain completely.  Just share with those who have less.

This is not as personal as a handwritten letter but I didn't have your correct address.  I know You have my email address.  After all, You are God.

I would like You to help us choose the right politicians next time around.  I imagine when you look over what's happening down here You just shake your head.

I sincerely hope You can create more jobs and less hoodlums. More food and fewer illegal drugs.  I would appreciate prayer back in school and have the people our children look up to more humble, more helpful and kinder when they deal with our children.

I would like more attention given to our soldiers who seem to be forgotten.

Lord, please help us find people with more gumption than the ones we have leading this country.

I also want to thank You for the wonderful job you have done creating this Earth we live on.

Sincerely, your humble servant

PS:  Thanks for the flowers.

Hi Gail, isn't God wonderful!! I thank Him too for the flowers.
Especially the ones I didn't plant, nobody really did, like volunteers and wildflowers.

I really want to have a discussion with God and see where mankind went wrong and find out if there is any possible way to correct the things that went wrong in this world. How do we right them - not just one person working in the right direction, but that is a beginning, right - then another, then another until we fix all this madness. In our very quiet area, where "these bad things don't happen", there was a lone young gunman, dressed for war that shot 3 Mounted Policemen (Mounties) and wounded two others on a wild chase through the city of Moncton these past few days - he was apparently going to take out a "bunch of cops" before he did himself in, however, the Mounties caught up with him yesterday and he is in lockup. Three Young Men working for justice lost their lives - FAMILY -Fathers, brothers, sons and husbands, who will never speak again - Dear Lord, I cannot understand why these things happen and its not just my town - Yes, we definitely need to talk sometime. Love, Lilly
p.s. Thank you Gail - your post touched my heart today in a grieving community.

thanks, dear.

i don't care what party the politicians put themselves into. i just wish they'd work together and not use all their energy (and our tax dollars) to fight the 'opposite' sides.

if we chose the right politicians they would be not from the republicans...or the democrats....or the tea party...or come with any corporate sponsorship...but that would surely take an act of god...

Thank you for calling attention to the needs we all have - speaking openly with God lets all of us say a prayer of Thanksgiving for our many blessings and hope for those needing help and prayers. I feel "somethings got to give" in the way things are going lately. IMHO Thanks to you from Judy C in NC

Not sur why my first comment did not stick.. A wonderful example of the desire to fix mans shortcomings while still being able to realize the beauty and grace that surround us on a daily basis. Your blog and this piece are great tools for spreading the word of the need for change while embracing the beauty the surrounds us even if imperfect. I loved this letter, thanks for participating!!!!

Sincerely in Awe,

My feelings exactly. But I know it really comes down to man putting his will before God's. God gave us intelligence and free will. He didn't mess everything up; man did. I am sure God wants all of this. He is waiting for man to make the effort to change. We all await that. *sigh*
Good post, though. Worth repeating.
Amen.

ooohh this is so sweet....we have been getting just the right amount!!!

i don't "do" politics, but to me, everything seems so simple. and the concept of spending money we don't have.....i don't know, if my checkbook balance was zero, i wouldn't write any checks or god forbid just print more money in my basement. i just buy what i can afford and can pay for!!!!!

Yes thanks for the flowers! I read something this morning: What if you woke up today with only what you gave God thanks for yesterday!! :)

I agree with Tex . . . It seems to me that we need to work with one another instead of "one up" each other.
How about some collegiality, I think God would say YES to that . . .
How about some kindness too.
For the life of me I can't figure out presidential hate . . .
Let's get back to regard, honor, respect instead of embarrassment.
We can disagree with respect . . . it used to be that way.
Maybe we need to remember America, Freedom, Justice . . .
For All . . .

I love your letter and will add my Amen to it!

We are facing a General Election in September. Parliament has been dissolved and we are in the midst of the nastiest, dirtiest campaign ever. It's a volatile situation which could erupt at any moment.

We are into the rainy season so flooding abounds......
