That's right...snake poop!!!! Marcy spotted it under the edge of the old house. I took no picture. I was somewhat disbelieving and had to dig in it with a stick. It looked like the above picture.
The snake I almost mowed that got away is still feeding in the area. I notice my frog population is decreasing so I suppose he will stay until the population is decimated.
I have my snake eyes on as I carefully trim around the old house. I always call the dogs to ask them "What is it?" This is their clue to look for snakes. Lil lays quietly at the entrance of the lean to kitchen. I feel safe as I trim and cut. I am not stupid though and take no chances. We are on Copperhead alert.
The snake saga continues. I truly think I will triumph. I am known to be very determined.

My friend went into Boerne, just north of San Antonio, on Monday to shop. One of the shop keepers had called the park district to get them to send someone out to capture a snake that was seen along the side of the building. We didn't stay to see the capture, but he was peering under bushes with a snake snagging tool.
We've only had one snake encounter this year and it was a coral snake (we think, I didn't see it and husband whose sandaled foot it slithered over was too busy having a heart attack to notice much).
Hopefully the dogs will find him soon.
Yikes! Be careful!
Your dogs are a good pack of protection....but still dear lady, be careful
While I know it's weird, but I do like to learn about all the poop or scat whatever just for my own knowledge so thank you for sharing this. I like teaching it as well as the tracks in the winter to my grand-delights, just so they know what creatures are around! Sometimes all we see is their poop! Did I notice what I think I see in that poop? Poor little frog. I just made a sign for my Frog area last week, because I've never had so many frogs around our place ever than this year!
All my time seeing snakes, I've never run into snake poop. I sure hope you get that booger, hate snakes. Be careful!
A Cottonmouth was spotted on the riverfront in the next county. They are not native to this area. The wildlife agents are looking into it. Of course, wildlife moves and adapts. There is a black bear in far northern Indiana, came down from Michigan. Good dogs you have!
Well, that is something I've never seen before! Be careful, and I hope he doesn't eliminate the poor frogs.
Gotta say if it comes down to frogs or snakes, give me frogs any day. Snake poop--very unnerving. Just be careful. Yikes!
It's good that you are being careful ... snake poop not a thing you want to see close by.
I'm sure the dogs will do well
All the best Jan
OK, that is my first image of snake poop:)) I had no idea.
Sorry he is working on your frogs. Hopefully he ate a few mice also.
Stay safe.
Can't say I've ever seen snake poop before...ewwww.
Better be careful !!! I am glad my little visitor is just a black snake !!!
Blessings
