a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Past Life

I've always walked a different path
Notice I fell asleep with a book.
I liked hats but rarely cameras...
Dad always made us smile.
I always had sun grins
and thought I was a boy.
Mom never gave up.
Oh, how I detested the making of ringlets!

Every thing is pretty much the same as it was
except I know I'm NOT a boy.

He he he... me to on the boy... i just love these, you were so darn cute. and mother used to put permanent waves in my hair, when i was 2 and 3 years old, the kind that used bobby pins... my hair was a frizzed mess. my cousin had long natural ringlets and she wanted mine curly. it was straight as a board and still is. yours has nice ringlets.... love this post and your cute overalls

What a sweet little girl you were, and what fun it was going down good old memory lane with you today!

Pretty much me...but, I never thought I was a boy, nor did I want to be one. I did, however, want to show the boys I was tougher, smarter, and as good as, if not better. I did, too!

How adorable you were... and still are! That determined spirit has carried you far and gotten you through the worst of times. I remember my mom curling our hair on strips of rags and doing those terrible Toni perms when we were still small enough to sit in high chair! I am so glad those trends died! I think you are just perfect the way God made you, I can't imagine you being any way else, and I suspect the only missing picture in the bunch is one of you holding a critter of some kind, and I bet they exist too! :-) PS - I still love hats and books... and naps!

You were just adorable! I want to hug that little girl and pinch her cheeks! My favorite is...almost all. I love the pose of you asleep! OH, I somehow missed your previous post! Why is the fake snake there? When I was younger, I was overly neat and never misplaced anything. But now, I do it all the time. A favorite quote of my mom's when I was growing up: "Where are the good scissors? I can never keep anything nice around here!"

I love your pictures! I loved overalls I still do actually. I detested the ringlets too. Every night my Mom did my hair like that.
Very nice Gail.
