Was it just last week the words rolled out
so smoothly and tastefully I could shout
The words won’t come they hide from me
How can I write something anyone would read?
There’s always time when the blank page cries
Out to be filled and nothing comes. The fingers lie
Softly against the keys,
Oh why won’t they work for me?
Lines of nonsense, words of no value
Lay on the page just for you
So I backspace
Replace
Words that appear
Nothing worth reading here
Thanks to MS Jenny there
will be many more
Who have mastered this prompt
Without it being a chore.

even out of nothingness, you made it enjoyable. :)
:-) I know that feeling! I love the 'backspace Replace' lines... that's me, for sure!
You always find great words, Gail. :o)
I totally concur ! We've all been there when nothing comes to mind. I am also a voracious editor...thank goodness for 'Backspace, Replace'
A delight to read...well done !!! :)
Jenny is a wonderful person. I adore her. :)
Oh this was just so fun! A centus at it's best! Jenny will be smiling too!
that was quite good for not having anything come to mind. great job
This made me smile... that you who are so good with words, writing with so much creativity and diversity, even you have your days when the words won't come, and you find yourself dissatisfied with anything that comes forth from your fingers. I have found that expression can't be forced. If it's not there, go away for awhile and do something else, when you return the words will find you, and you will find them... and the dance will begin again!
this one is GRRRREAT... I am with Tex, love the backspace replace part... wish we could do that in our lives... lots of stuff i would backspace out....
Fantastic- love it! I feel this way about my photography right now...nothing looks right.
I know that feeling, it always sounds so much easier for other people, I suppose
have a great day.
/that's a kinda kool poem about nothinness - even outta nothing, you creat something. Good Job Gail :)
Sometimes writing about nothing at all is the most enjoyable because that is when we can be playful and you certainly were that.
Uh oh. You mean we're actually supposed to write about SOMETHING?
Hmmm...
This was wonderful.
I think you captured how we all feel when the blank space stretches before us.
Backspace, delete, backspace, delete.
I loved your use of this prompt.
