a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

My Circus

In my circus
I’m the one
With the shovel
Who, unnoticed, cleans
But late at night
When the circus sleeps
I am the bareback rider
Of beautiful horses
I hold freedom
In my hand
And pretend
All is not limited
To the ring

Perfect, I can see you standing on the back of a big white horse... free to ride and NOT to clean

If only sneaking and the cover of night weren't necessary, but I know that I find it easier to be graceful in my best dreams! Fine poem.

I can see 'you', shovel in hand, envisioning the freedom of riding. Wish I could enjoy that freedom myself!
