Updates On Weather and Thieves...

Monday morning, Hubby took me to work.
Tuesday, I tried.
See that little hill in the distance that curves?
I and my car did not make it.
Hubby took me to work again.

Tried to back to the house and it started sliding
so left it in the road and Hubby picked me up.
Today he graded the road.
Tomorrow, I should make it out.

Tuesday morning we also discovered the thieves had returned to get more things.  What is the world coming to??? There were their tracks in the snow where they made repeated trips to their vehicle on the roadway.  All the doors were left open again. So I guess Monday night after the snow stopped, they helped themselves.  May their teeth all fall out, may they be infested with lice and may their privates rot for their thievery.

This is not where we live but at the top farm.  Our old home place but it is ours and not for others to rummage and steal!

I just don't know how much more invasion, destruction, and theft Beverly can stand before she feels completely defeated.

It has been reported to the police.  The doors are blocked so they will have to at least work harder at getting in since they have already broken the door locks.  I placed a large log across the steps and against the trailer door.  I gathered  cookware and a lamp they had left on the front porch so maybe, just maybe they were disturbed from taking more.

These were things we planned to sell in the spring to help support Beverly.  A lot of it was hers.

Please say a prayer for us, if you pray, that our faith in mankind be renewed because I feel my trust fading quickly.

Maybe you need a security camera that's cleverly disguised and can be monitored from your computer. I'm sorry for you losses there.

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the thieves in unimaginable and unmentionable places.

We're in the midst of a snowstorm here, too. It's like powdered sugar--so fluffy and light.

You know, people just plain suck! I'm so sorry that you keep having issues with thieves! I know how aggravating it must be! Maybe you should see about investing in a security system and/or some really bright flood lights. It is unfortunate that you can't get the thieves to pay for the security!

My faith in humans is failing too unfortunately, but I'll definitely pray for you. I hope you can find a way to bring these guys to justice. Motion activated game cameras I don't think are horribly expensive. Maybe that would work. Sorry they came back. I just get so sick that criminals continue to get away with things while the rest of us get taken advantage of.

Sorry to hear that the thieves returned! Do you know any hunters that might let you borrow a game camera? Then you could set it up and perhaps catch who is doing it without spending your own hard earned money on a security camera? Or maybe just a sign SAYING that the place is monitored by security cameras (even if it isn't)might help) Just an idea, I hope things get better soon!

That is terrible ! Jennifer has a good idea, ya never know maybe you can catch them on camera and then take it to the cops and maybe they will do something or may know them ! or get do it the old fashioned way ( Get Pa to sit on the porch with a shot gun ! ) I hope they get caught red handed!

And yes it pisses me off that they get away with it or that anyone could do this ! Try to have some what of a good day !

It really is discouraging, isn't it? Our culture just doesn't support honesty and integrity like it used to, and it shows in some people's behavior.

Having said that, I still run across wonderful, honorable people every day. Maybe that's the miracle. That some people don't succumb to the society at large but choose to treat others as they would like to be treated.

I sure hope you can find a way to discourage or, even better, catch the dirty rotten scoundrels.

I dont know what the laws are where you live.. but here in Texas.. If you catch someone on your land stealing etc.. you can shoot..Think its called the "castle law" I cant stand dishonest people! grrr... sorry yall are having to go through this. :( (and reguardless if there is or isnt a law here... i would shoot anyway.. there is absolutely no excuse for that kind of behavior)

I thought that the Texas police (rangers?) were competent. I guess not! Try the game camera, and be cautious when returning home, as I don't think you want a confrontation, unless you are packing.

I believe in the 3 fold law. for some it is 19 fold. They will loose 10 time what they have taken, And you will be blessed 10 time. You also have to forgive. As they may be hungry. But that is not a good excuse. But it may help if you think they did it to feed there kids. I have had many things taken from me over my life time. But also seen the taker pay dearly for there misdeed. My prayers are with you all.

Oh NO. So unfair and stupid. I can feel your frustration and anger. So unfair.

I am praying right this moment.

Drive safely... Looks scary to me, because here on the southern Oregon coast we rarely get any of that white stuff.

Sorry about the thieves. I agree with the other comments about our world changing, but I know around here people are trying to use the financial problems as an excuse for bad behavior... I don't buy it!

I am so angry for you. I just don't get it...life that is, anymore. The honest folks just don't think like the rest of the low lifes. I can't even imagine doing what they have done to your family. I can't imagine living with the way I'd feel. But that's just it....I don't think they do feel.
I am so sorry. I hope their thieving luck runs out and someone evens the score on them. They deserve everything bad that is coming to them.
I feel so badly for you, your sister and your family. The Olde Bagg, Linda

Finally got your snow huh? Sorry about your theiving. The amount of trouble some people will put into taking the easy way is amazing. Its easier to do it the honest way. I'm like Ernie, they will pay, one way or another. "May their teeth all fall out, may they be infested with lice and may their privates rot for their thievery." (lol, now THIS sounds more like our Gail!!) Stay safe:)

Oh Gail, I'm sorry about the thieves breaking in again. We had that happen, too. Made me physically ill. Security lights and cameras are a great idea if you can do that, but sometimes it's just not practical. It wasn't for us. Maybe some bear traps???

Far Side of Fifty said...

One of those trail cams..but they will flash at night and then they will see it.. I like the bear trap idea..it would serve them right.
Hope you get to work ok..you need 4 wheel drive I guess:)

It's nice to have someone able to drive in this weather.

I am so sorry that this has happened again to all of you! The boldness of some folks just leaves me with my mouth gaping! I hope they get whats coming to them for taking what didn't belong to them!

I drove home in a snow storm this evening!! The road was slick and my hands were gripping the wheel tightly. Driving in snow is not my favorite thing to do!!

I'm sorry this happened again, Gail. I guess it's better to not have anything stored at the old farm. There's too much temptation. Which is no excuse for the thieves, of course. I wonder how hard up they are? I do hope that Beverly doesn't take this too hard. I worry about her.

I'm sorry to hear about the thieves revisiting. To be honest I think you've put the log in the wrong place. It should be above he door so that if they come again it falls on their head as they open the door. Failing that a few well place Bear traps might not be out of place.

Give me animals, anyday! So sorry to read about the thieves and the misery they cause--a world-wide problem.
Our problem during our 6 weeks of snow has been the hills in our village-we don't have a 4X4.

Do not give up hope just yet. Being a victim of 3 robberies I know exactly how you feel. :( I will say prayers for Bev but is there anything we as cyber-friends can do?

Were the police able to follow their tracks? Get that camera...take the sucker's picture...Get a storage locker and move everything out of the place...gggrrrr...dig a hole and cover with snow to catch them...Put a motion detector in the place somewhere that will blow a whistle...thieves are the worst...if they want something they should at least ask...

I'm so sorry, and hope these people are caught. Maybe you need to move the stuff out of the house if you can't keep it secure. Sending prayers that your sister see the light and good in this somehow and that support for her happens in a way she can see God's hand.

I'm so sorry! That sucks. Why do people have to be so bad?

I'm really sorry to hear this, Gail. I will keep praying for all of you.

It makes me so sad to hear they have come back again. :(

What a bunch of greedy jerks! Too bad you can't wrap the house in electric wire or place rattlesnakes on the front porch, or create some of trigger traps like the movie Home Alone.
I'm sorry your family is having to deal with this. It's not fair. bah!

Good hubby for helping you out with the snow, though. :)

Nooooooooo!!! Who do these people think they are, anyway? How DARE they! I am so ANGRY on your behalf.

Is there some way you could set a trap for 'em? Maybe snag 'em in the act an' hold 'em there until the next time you show up? Grrrr! If they freeze while waiting... oh, well. It's their own fault.

I'm SO sorry this has happened again.

I'm sorry this has happened to you. I know how it feels because I've been there. I believe if you give up on people because of them then they are the ones that win and you lose again.

The world really is full of wonderful people. It's just they don't get the press the bad ones do. Keep the faith, it will be worth it.

(Thinking in some bad language) - Been there too, a long time ago. OK, how far between you and the top farm? Is there any electricalpower available thre now? Have some ideas that could work. Trip wires are probably the easiest. Even without a real connection when the jerks hit one they might think twice about going on. (Assuming they have some brains). Consider too - they could watch your blog!

What darn well gets me, Gail, is that you live out in the country for pity sakes! I think of thieves in a place like I live..Los Angeles...but not in a place like you live. I don't get it..and I will never, ever, understand people like that.
Being stolen from moves me to rage. I actually WATCHED a guy walking down the stree in front of our house, suddenly dart to our porch, grab my son's bike and leap off the porch, onto the bike and take off...
In his rush he ran into part of the hedge and by that time the entire household was out the door.
Now this is the odd part and one I will never forget!
He ran to the sidewalk and then just past the neighbors house he totally slowed down and began walking along and whistling like had been in the first place. We were all stunned and just stood and watched him walk off.
We could prove nothing. He had no bike...we had no proof.
Odd world we live in!

Totally ticks me off for you sister, though!! Your wishes for them are my sentiments EXACTLY..only double that!
Hugs!
Let catch 'em and ...got any piano wire? LOL
Some people really have a lot of balls, you know? Maybe we could fix that? (sorry, I got carried away!)

Just catching up....I can't BELIEVE this! God this makes me mad! I hope they catch these crooks! I'm so sorry for you and your family!
