If I Had One Wish

If I had one wish,
It would not be for gold,
If money didn't matter,
and loved ones grew not old.
This would be the wish
favored in my heart,
to hear my animals speak,
to know them in the dark.
The sweetest thing I could ever hear
would be a word or two,
with all animals letting me know,
I understand you.

Hey Miss Gail,
Love the pics of the cows/calves. Beautiful.
Esp loved the poem. As you know I've been trying my hand at it and it's unfamiliar territory.
I've missed visiting blogs.
Busy time here.
Have a lovely week end.
Blessings, Barb
Thanks for bringing a smile to my face with your words and pics.

WHo needs a wish when you have such a gift? I think all of your animals already get you as much as you get them.

Sweet posts (catching up). I used to want to be Dr. Doolittle. Singing the song: If I could talk to the animals, just imagine it, chatting with the chimp and chimpanzee...

I always used to wish for the same thing. As a child, Dr. Doolittle was one of my favorite books, along with Carbonel, King of the Cats.

Lovely post.

Beautiful Gail. I am an animal empath and although I can pick up on what a lot of my babies are feeling, it would be really cool to actually "hear" them speak. I love this poem. I'm such a sucker for animals!

Love it!

There are times I wish I knew what my critters were saying and there are others when I am sure they would be giving me lip or chewing me out for something or other....lol.

Have a great weekend!

I am with you. I so wish I knew what my animals thought or perceived about what goes on around them. I will say that when Kitty was killed, our other Kitty really tried her best to communicate the problem to me. It was eerie!
