a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

He Watched As I Worked...

You big, beautiful buck...you won't be here long even though you make a great scarf holder.  Soon, you will retire to the gun room where you belong.

Andrew, my strong, manly grandson, agreed (after I said I would do the dishes, his job) to help me move couches.  I had no other volunteers!  With only one injury to myself, we traded couches and rooms and moved one desk...the rest I could manage after I ice-packed the outside of my wrists from being slammed in a rock wall while carrying one end of an eight foot couch, but, by golly, it is moved.  Today the swelling is almost gone as I prepare for work.

My room is finished except for removing one coffee table.  The dining room and the den look like a tornado has hit them but, maybe, tonight, or maybe not, I will finish and finesse.  I worked until almost eleven PM to finish my room.  That is not late by most standards for one who goes to bed with the chickens, that is late!

Bev returned to box some clothes Andrew has parted with so the leaving the house forever pile is growing!!!!  Yipee!

At almost ten, Andrew got a call to go to Silver Dollar City with his life-long friend, Dalton, who moved away a few years ago.  So in the middle of all my chaos, hubby (Where the hell is Harrison?) and Andrew plan a road trip.  Bag must be found, unpacked (still packed from church camp) and repacked for a few days with Dalton.  They must meet the family about two hours away so they have departed,  Andrew, thrilled, hubby not so much.  Andrew will only be gone a few days since he has musical and football obligations.  The parting line I heard was, Dalton will probably be coming home with us for a couple of weeks...ekkkk!  Dalton's a good young man, but, after all, one more is one more.

All in all, it was a successful weekend, by my standards.  Computer room reorganized and cleaned (with Bev's help), seamstress repairs completed, one room finished, laundry done, and four boxes and a table waiting to be carried to the shop...out of here forever!

I did not turn into a wonderful house wife over night, it was just too darned hot to work outside, (103) where I would have preferred to be.

Gail you make me tired just reading all you did! You go girl! At least you were productive and accomplished! I spent yesterday being a lazy butt! It's just too hot to do much outside here too and it will be 103 tomorrow if I'm not mistaken! OHHHH to live in the south in the summer! Can you stand breathing in the water!?!?

Hope your wrist heals quickly. I have had tendinitis since I was a very young child of not even 10 years old! Although I don't too much trouble as a general rule, if I over use my wrists (repetitive motion tasks) or whatnot, they swell and hurt! I feel you pain! Now stop hurting yourself!

Have a great day Gail even if it is Monday!

Hugs!
Tara

It all sounds like fun to me - I know, I'm crazy. I love moving furniture and re-organizing though. And I for sure don't want to be outside! blessings, marlene

I know wherrrre Harrison is. I been to Harrrrrison more than once. (Imagine me singing those lines. It's what was in my head.)

So great on all your accomplishments. This inspires me to get started on my grandkids "playroom". I finally moved their toys in to a spare room, but it needs to look better.

Are you going to show pics of the finished room(s)?

Ouch for your injured wrists, but at least you will have two young men to help you move furniture around soon. I'm sure they can handle a sofa or two between them. You can rearrange the whole house. You may want to wrap up those wrists to protect them from further injury.
