a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Life As A House...

I borrow this title from the movie I accidentally watched this afternoon. I say accidentally, because after all the drama we've experienced the last few days,  we returned home and collapsed in relief (the whole family napped), not even aware that we were wound so tight!

It was never a movie I would have chosen from the blurb.  I avoid sadness like a rabbit avoids dogs.  I have known enough, not be entertained by it. I want to laugh in my life and tend to do that, even, when it seems inappropriate, but that is me. At the hospital, my BIL asked, you do know this is serious, don't you?  Ah, but he doesn't know me well, or he would have known, I WAS serious.

In the movie there were revelations, laughter, romance, dreams and death with Kevin Kline, Kristin Scott Thomas, Mary Steenburgen and a load of other wonderful actors and actresses.

I lay on the couch, very aware of my blessings, and so aware of my ungratefulness.  I cried.  I like to think it was because of the movie.

Sleep, tears and honesty. What an excellent way to cleanse and regenerate your soul. You are as strong as life demands, yet not hardened. So good to see.

I've had a lengthy break from blogging and have just been trying to catch up on your news...glad to see that hubby is on his way to recovery. One of my friends had the same sort of problem last year and also now has a stent. She is fine now and doing all sorts of strenuous activities.

I've never seen that movie. I think maybe...perhaps...that you needed a good cry...movie or not. We have to let out the stress and worry some way.

It's hard to be Superwoman!

Take care, my friend.

I love that movie...sad, thought provoking but fun at the same time...it's the perfect movie when you need to cry...cause you can blame it on the movie but have a good heart wrenching soul cleansing cry...will be thinking about you and sending positive thoughts out to the universe..

I love a good movie and a cry which ever one comes first. A movie that makes me laugh when I am really down is Bird On A Wire with Goldie Hawn and Mel Gibson. It is not about the context of the movie it is just the laughter it evokes. Works for me every time, I do not know why. Take care my friend things will get better. B

I love that movie. And I know that you act tough on the outside, but you're nothing but a marshmallow on the inside. :) Hope hubby is well.
