Blue Skies and Cold Air

One more time, I fooled myself into thinking winter would not arrive this year.  I was wrong, as usual.  Last night was our coldest night this season and I can testify, this is the coldest I want to feel.

I prefer when Winter dances around the edges, showing her icy petticoats just enough to tease me, to show me the possibilities.  I love the crisp mornings with frost painting a sparkling masterpiece on the land.  I like when it melts and colors of brown and blond emerge and fool me into Fall again, dreaming winter will never come.

Well, Farm Girl (me), get your head out of your ash bucket and wake up!  It's February and in these parts, that means winter.  Get over it, dress warm and keep that camera ready!

We got down to around 10 degrees up here last night, and they are calling for it to drop down much closer to zero tonight, with the possibility of 2-4 inches of snow on Monday. As long as we don't have another ice storm, I don't mind. Of course, with me rarely leaving the house anymore--not even to go out into the yard, that's easy for me to say.

It may be February but that means March is just around the corner and March means spring.

We've had plenty of cold around these parts! Down into the single digits at times and even below zero for several days in January. But there has been no moisture to go with it...no rain or snow to speak of. I think it only snowed twice in January and only briefly! Yesterday it hit 58 degrees here! They are calling for some weather for this next week....I'll believe when I see it!

Stay warm and have a cup of hot cocoa to warm yourself up!

Sounds like COLD all over the place . . .

We had your blue skies and 50 and the next day snow, 20's and everyone is learning how to drive all over again.
Today, much the same . . . I think the season will make the "unpredictable" record book!

Cuddle up with a good book . . . that is my plan!

Unfortunately, it is still winter over here too. We finally got our freezing cold. Blue skies yes, but it's very cold also. I don't much appreciate it. I can't wait for springtime.

Great turn of phrase! :)

They are predicting 2-4 inches of snow tonight! yikes! But 45 this week and then 50's to 60 the next week! :) yay!

Another blanket is definitely the order for tonight though...

Stay warm!

It's been a strange winter for everyone, I think. It seems to keep coming and going!
