a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Yesterday We Walked Together...

We need rain as the summer heat zaps us.
Met this fellow close to the pond.
In the clear water you can see this big craw daddy
minus one pincer which will grow back.
Upper right third rock over you will see a tiny minnow.
Find beauty every where you go
You just have to look.

you found all kinds of treasures to photograph.. i love the last photo. you are so right, everywhere we go there is something beautiful, even your beloved rocks.. i hope your drought is not returning. wish i could send you some of our rain, our drought broke and now it can't seem to stop... it is not cooling it off, when we get rain here it turns into a steam bath.

That is so true. There is beauty everywhere and people who don't look nor care mystify me. Love Mother Nature!

You have a lot of critters there!
Would you like some of our rain? I think the east coast is about to float out to sea...

"For all the countless famous things,
the wondrous record-breaking things,
those never-can-be-equaled things,
that all the papers cite, and -
are not like little human/nature things,
the every-day-encountered things,
the "Just because- I like them things,
that make the world so bright"
This is what makes my walks along the ocean floor or a path in the woods so exciting - the fun of exploring and discovery. I enjoyed your walk Gail. Hi to All :)

I love those quiet summer walks! We have been getting daily showers here to help keep that humidity up and sticky and the weeds growing n the gardens : )

Gail,

Showing me pictures of your place like this makes me want to move over that way.

Having the natural calm place to venture to is just amazing.

Hey! I've been missing your blog somehow. I'll be playing catch up today! Glad you didn't post any nasty snake pix today. LOL

You live in the country and I live in the suburbs and don't get to see any wild creatures, except for the odd bird and the occasional hedgehog. We each enjoy the benefits and drawbacks of our lives and who's to say which is better? I'd like to live downtown and have a cottage in the country, then I would have the best of both worlds.
