a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

You Only Thing You Can Count On

is things will change.

They were beauties and they served us well.  Sold them all, every one.  It is bittersweet.  Hubby's dream of raising cattle was born years ago.  He lived his dream and like my horses, that dream ends, too.

Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

Shall I change my blog name since we officially are no longer "farming"?

The land will feed the wildlife.  We will continue to care for the land but hopefully at a more leisurely pace.

I imagine we will celebrate come winter but now it's bittersweet.

I'm sorry! Yes, you are still farming. You have dogs, cats, and chickens, and acres of farmland.

Sorry to hear this but also it comes with a new lease on life. One that gives you both a little breathing room.
You best not change the name since you are still a farmer of the heart. Be well my friend. Linda

New beginnings. I followed a trailer with some calves, going to our local cattle auction, yesterday. It made me feel a bit sad for them, although that particular farmer probably did not have the same feelings you are feeling. It will be different, but I'd say you are still tending the land.

Absolutely NOT - NO NAME CHANGE - You are still on farmland and one when door closes another opens filled with new adventures. Now we will see more of the land, Tractor Man, Loose Gail in the sandals in the creek with Paw Pals, family and fun. It is the end of a day and the beginning of a new day. Happy Trails in the New Day :) Hugz to Marcy :)

Sometimes change sucks...but you have to move on along because the alternative isn't so good either:)

NO don't change the name of your blog. Just because you're not doing the big farming doesn't mean it's not still a farm.

After the bittersweet, there will be joy in the freedom.

Do not change your name ever.
I wish I could show up and give you the biggest hug. I know how hard that must have been.
You are still taking care of the land. You haven't stopped farming, you have just gone a new direction.

Ahh,Gail it is a little sad but sometimes things have to change. We have talked about selling out (we are probably 15 years older!) but DH is still holding on. I am glad you picked a market time while prices are very good.

Enjoy an easier life with not quite so much to do.

Having other friends who have done the same thing, I understand how and why you're feeling the way you are. I also don't think that you should change your name -- It's part of who you are and you still have your land.

*hugs* ♥
We live on a 'farm', and we don't even have chickens...
I would be sad if you changed the name; but it is your blog and if you feel the need for change here also, you should do it. ♥

No! Please don't change the name of your blog. I love it just as it is. I know you are there. It makes me feel good to know where to find you and though that might sound strange...it's just how I feel.
It may be only a name, but YOU have given it depth and meaning. It's where Gail and her family live.
At the Farm!
Big hugs,
Mona
