Mother for Magpie Tales

with Tess Kincaid

Mother knew
she would never see
the twenty-first century
she stated the fact
and made it so
Take care of things
she said
her last wish
tethered me
to her dreams
not mine

mother did not see the 21st century either and daddy did and he was 13 years older than her. you are a good daughter to keep on taking care of things.

To be tethered to your mother's dream.. isn't that a little sad really.. ?

I am not tethered but rather grounded because of my mother's life lessons.

A daunting task ~ 'take care of things' ~ could be interpreted in so many ways. This is good on many levels, Gail.
