War

For Magpie Tales with Tess Kincaid

War touches all
with long bony fingers
in our dreams
through lifetimes
we can say
it is for the greater good
try telling that to
the ones who came home
incomplete
try to tell the ones
who never came home

That says it all. War does affect all of us, one way or another, with its long bony fingers.

P.S. I like the quotes you've posted too - from Keller and Connolly. Couldn't agree more.

War reverberates...through generations...missing gaps in family history. You captured that so perfectly. And those who return are shadowed...always.
