Where Are You From?

From countries forgotten
From hard working hands
From mountains and streams
From love of the land.

From "You can do anything"
From "There is a God"
From "Honesty is all"
From "Respect Mom and Dad"

From dreams and wishes
From hard work
From prayers
From unlimited blessings

I am from right here.

A lot of us came from those 'hard working hands'. I am so grateful to my ancestors for leaving their country of birth and starting up fresh in Canada.

I am from right here adds a wonderful sense of continuity.. and the quotes make me still feel the child in you.

i like all the places you are from, they are all on the inside and can be carried where every you go or if you stay right HERE

I like the tone of your poem, Gail, the emphasis on strong values and, as often in your poems, the love of the land.
