What A Difference A Few Hours Make...

Thursday morning...
Thursday afternoon.
The hill going down to the farm...
Driving down the hill and curve to the farm...
I know y'all with lots of snow are saying,
that's not much!
It was to me!!
I was scared to death driving on this cr...snow.
Made it safely home.

UPDATE:  After trying four times Friday morning to get up this hill, my car rests in a ditch in front of my house, right where she slid.  I may leave her there til spring!

Snow is pretty, but is sometimes a frustrating challenge. Stay in and stay warm...

Sorry to hear it snowed. And sorry to hear it gave you trouble!
I have been away from snow so long, I don't like when it snows here, either.

Glad you're off on Saturdays now! Stay in and stay warm! :-)

Hey, I hear ya. Don't like driving in the stuff, playing in it is another story. It is 10 degrees here, brrrrr :)

Stay warm and safe. :)

bummer. my sister lived in colorado for a year and we went to visit her and then to visit a friend who lived in the mountains. I borrowed her 4-wheel drive vehicle but still nearly skidded off the steep road. scared me to death.

Not in the ditch? Oh NO!

It would be cold, but maybe you should think about hitching up your horses to a sled. I'm thinking maybe their footing would be more stable than tires. It's just a thought.

I'm sayin'.... I had to drive outta this bottom to take my MIL into town yesterday. It truly didn't thrill me!

It's sure pretty to just look at but I just came in from retrevin' the weekend wood, feedin' the birds and other critters. Burrrrrr!!!

I'm off to soak in a 'warm' tub. Date night...or at least to Harbor Freight in the Big City.

God bless and have a great~'safe' weekend! :o)

Can you ride a horse to work, similar to the pony express? Hee hee. Sorry about the whole car-in-a-ditch scenario. The snow is sure pretty, though.

You're just not meant to drive a car when there's snow on the ground. It's too dangerous for you. It makes you go in ditches that you normally avoid. You mustn't do that. I suppose Den will get the tractor and pull you out. I hope you're not dented.

Having grown up in California, I am deathly afraid of driving in the snow.

You're a braver woman than I am, even if you do leave the car there till spring!

=)

Snow makes for a pretty picture, but it can be treacherous to drive in. When I was young I loved to drive in it - the deeper the better. Now I avoid driving as much as possible. I understand your temptation to leave your car parked until spring. Hope you have an early spring thaw:)

I have been driving in some crazy snow lately....it's a little insane and I hate it....we won't see grass til April...
Sorry your car ended up in a ditch...that really really stinks...hugs to you..hopefully it goes away soon..

It takes practice - and a car equipped with winter tires.(NOT all-season tires). Even then watch out for that thin film of 'black ice'. That stuff is deadly. Thank goodness I don't have to drive anywhere in this weather.

Yep - something to be said for that old horse and sleigh combo.

ATB! from the deep freeze. (-17C or 0F tonight). Colder tomorrow..... A two dog night. :))
