a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Forty Years Ago...

Our wedding shower...
Hubby and I have been eating ever since.
The shower and the wedding were in my church,
no longer there.
Met Hubby there during Sunday afternoon
cow pasture baseball games.
Boy, that dress is short!
Me and Dad.
The dress was designed by me,
sewn by Aunt Medie
The veil made by sisters
The bouquet is yellow roses and daisies
A sure sign that I would always be talking
My veil caught in the screen door
as we exited our country church.
I wanted to be bare foot at my wedding.
Mother protested.
We compromised.
I wore sandals.
I wore a brown stone cross Hubby had given me
through the years, it was lost.
The only photo of me pregnant with our first daughter..
Also with me is our first dog, Tiger, a stray.
Proof that Hubby changed diapers ONCE.

Snapshots of our first year of forty,
May there be forty more.
I love you, Hubby.
Happy Anniversary!

Your oldest grandson looks like your husband, doesn't he?

Hi Gail, Happy Anniversary to you both! How lucky (for me) that I wondered over from Mona's Whisper Sweetly...blog to find yours. Ireally enjoyed the "about Me" and agree that every person is a mystery. It's part of our uniqueness. Drop by our blog anytime.

Dear Gail - I enjoyed the photos very much and "Your" story over your Wedding Shower, marriage and even hubby changing diapers. I think it neat to know you met during Sunday afternoon cow pasture baseball games. That is so cute.
I think it quite smart that your dress was designed by you and sewn by your Aunt Medie. How many brides can say that, eh :)
Very nice post.
Happy Anniversary to you both and many more.

I would have been married forty years today too if it were not for an unfortunate set of circumstances. Congratulations that you are.

Andrew looks a lot like Den. They could easily have been twins.

I didn't know you had been pregnant with a dog, lol.
