a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Rock Hollow Called Me...

So I listened.
Found a feather on the way
and placed it in my hair.
It was cloudy when I started.
All the way I prayed for rain.
I entered my favorite place and was saddened.  The tornado and the ice storms of years past have left damage.  No rains have fallen big enough to wash the debris away.  It's still my favorite place, just harder to navigate.  Rock Hollow carries the rain fall to the creek below and is home for many living things.  I kept my eye out for snakes with camera in hand.
The Poison Oak was healthy and the ferns still grew so there had to be some moisture deep in the ground.  On top it was dry.  I slipped in leaves, I clung to rocks, I crossed logs and climbed to my heart's content.
The farm trio found something interesting.
To give you some perspective,
the rocks here are huge.
Then I fell...
This is the view from where I lay.
I'm still enjoying the beauty
but now my behind is hurting.
I thinking, Oh, no, I didn't tell anyone where I was going.  I want my ashes scattered here so I was happy to lie there for a minute or two letting my body tell me if it was okay.  I may not have gotten the rain I prayed for but a Higher Power was watching after me.  Above is where I fell...right in the spot that has no big rocks, plumped my behind right into the safe zone.  Guardian Angel or dumb luck?  You decide.  Oh, I'm okay, I'll be bruised but I'm not broken.
My little tumble was from here to there.
I was hot and rested.
Taking in the beauty of my favorite spot...
Rock Hollow.
These puppies were glad to be home.

Gee, Genie - at first I thought you were writing one of your magical tales and this one just happened to star YOU n PAW PAWS. Sure glad to hear guardian angel landed you safely and you will probably only feel a little hurt. Girl, between itchin n fallin - I think next time you head out, you should have a pillow tied to your rump. ha,ha
Hope every thing is going well for you. These are great photos of your "Rock Hollow" - a very special place indeed. Have a great day!

Gail,

Your Rock Hollow is a great place to just go and relax with peace and be with the high powers above. I agree the high powers were watching over you to make sure you were relaxed, not hurt and enjoyed Rock Hollow. Apparently, there has not been enough rain up in your area to clear out the debris from the tree's. I can see it now, a nice steady rain creating a nice steady water flow in a downard motion clearing the weathered debris and making a humble place for all to appreciate. Beautiful pictures Gail! I see the trio enjoyed themselves too :-)
Now go rest your feet and have a great evening.

I took a fall myself in my own flower bed..felt really stupid! Glad we are both okay and just bruised.
Woke up this morning to the sound of rain on the roof. Of course it rained... I washed the car yesterday, hung out laundry and put the sprinklers in the flower beds...then it rains : )

Love your Rock Hollow. It reminds me of some of the places on our property in NC. I find peace there.
I'm glad you are OK after your fall. I've found that I do things like that...and as I'm going down, I just can't seem to grasp that it is happening...until I land!
