a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

I Got Clay!

As I ran a short errand yesterday I had a nice surprise coming home.
A grader man improving our road.
It always washes here so they are building the road up
and recutting drainage to divert the water.
Hopefully that will work.
Recutting the ditches and reshaping the road.
It's great.
I suppose not many people get as excited about red clay as I do.
When it dries it will be a nice firm road.

Would you send the graders our way please? Our farm road needs it! Your road looks good. I know what you mean about the red clay. Packs hard almost as good as concrete.

Red clay makes for great roads. We have plenty of red clay here, and it always ends up inside our home. The winds blows it in or we track it in on the bottom of our boots/shoes. Great country side pictures.

That red clay looks good. It looks just like a tennis court only a lot more sturdy. I'm sure it's a joy to drive on. xox

They're supposed to do our road, too; but it will be some sort of pavement as we already have that. They've painted marks. Now we just wonder when they start.

Lucky you. Congratulations on your nice roadbed!

Oh red clay...I know thee well! That's the stickiest ickiest stuff God ever made, but it will sure pack down to a good hard road if driven over enough.
