Fred's Fish House...

The day of errands we ran many places.  The one Hubby enjoyed most was Tractor Supply and Fred's Fish
House.  This was Fred's decor.  I do believe I embarrassed him by taking pictures.  He hasn't run around with me much lately.
Many may have enjoyed this but I am glad the turkey was not hanging over my plate.  It is stuffed after all.

Hubby had the fish with potato and beans.  I had frog legs and fried green tomatoes.  Nope, they did not know how to cook any of what I had.  Covered with Chicken Fried Steak batter and then cooked.  Ugh!  I ate one tomato, didn't touch my frog legs and boxed it up for home.

With the CFS batter removed they were quite a tasty dish for my supper, so lunch out became my dinner in.

Back when we were in college, and poor as field mice, my husband hunted and fished as much for the food it provided as the fun he had. Frog legs were a staple on our diet. Now when I go to a restaurant that has them I just shake my head because they are these pitifully small things that have very little flavor. And yes, green tomatoes are best fried at home! blessings, marlene

My hubby usually ignores me when I start snapping pictures. He takes out his cell phone and checks how the game is going. There's always some kind of game going.

Well I like going to tractor supply. That is one of my favorite places to shop. :) My husband always enjoy our selves when we get to go shop there.
It it has been a long, long time since I had frog legs and never cooked like that. :)

Tractor Supply is one of my favorite places to shop :)
How sad that the food wasn't good. But, how nice that you could resurrect it!

Gee Whiz, I'm missing out on so much living up here in the north. Never have tried Frogs Legs, although your home recipe is probably excellant. My Mom used to cook "Fried Green Tomato's" and they were yummy. You are right, sometimes the best food is how you cook it in your own chicken - we have a little and I mean little takeout here " King Street Takeout" with the best fish n chips you have ever tasted - fresh fish daily from the Bay of Fundy - can't get any better than that. Very comparable with English Fish n Chips. The tractor supply sounds like a place I would love to visit n shop n maybe eat something other than the not so tasty frog legs.

We often end up with leftovers, but not if it tastes bad in the restaurant. I'll have to try that.

Usually we just split something between us.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Gail!

Had frog legs once many years ago, they were delicious, but truly taste nothing like chicken as claimed. Being a northerner, have never tasted fried green tomatoes, going to have to put them on my things to do list! Had to chuckle at hubby and the photos, mine is a camera nut, all I have to do is point and say "take a picture for me" and he's on it! In fact he's done some amazing close-up photos of bees on flowers... crazy man!

I have never had fried green tomatoes or frog legs and just how many of those does it take before you are full? Is there a lot of meat on them? Are freen tomatoes just unripe red tomatoes or are they a special kind? xox

I'd eat the fried green tomatoes, but the frog legs? Uh, no thank you.
