The Sunday Mini-Challenge~14-Liners

The last place
I would look for revelation
Is in a book called Desperation
Written by King
For millions to read
The message took shape
As He did the deed
Blood, death and gore
Knitted into a tale and more
The truth revealed within
Hundreds of pages
Buried in blood
Truth for the ages...
God is love.

Every one's writings tend to reflect where you are when you write.  I remember when I first read Desperation I had an aha moment.  This was his religious revelation novel.  That idea was re-enforced tonight when I watched an old movie based on the book.

Then magically appearing just for my writing pleasure the Sunday Mini-Challenge with Imaginary Garden With Real Toads. I studied no style since we were given leeway just to create.  Join the challenge and read some real poetry.

I am not familiar with the book or movie Desperation. I have never been a King fan though, as his work is too gory for me. From your poem, I gather that this is no exception!

I am not familiar with the book or movie too ~ But I can imagine being touched deeply by a story or a verse, that it influences and shapes your thoughts and truth ~

The inquiring mind will find inspiration and even epiphany when engaging with a text or film. I'm very pleased that you allowed your poem to flow free form in 14 lines.

You have a talent that extends beyond the perimeters of most people that write. You reach depths and heights that most will not reach. You expand your mind beyond each weekly challenge. You are gifted Gail. Thankyou for all that you write and share.

I am familiar with King enough to know he is not someone I read or watch. However, your poem is your usual well done work.

Your poem has certainly churned up a lot of interest in Stephen Kings book. I will have to read it. I want to know how it can come from blood and gore to the conclusion that you got. Nice write!

NEVER thought of the two together "religion" and Stephen King. I will have to check it out someday.
