a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

It's Sunny with 80 Per Cent Chance of Rambling

as I type.  The cold front that swept through here Friday and Saturday night dropped the temps to freezing at night but the days have been in the fifties. Today back into the sixties.

My sister, Marcy, plucked and gathered and shared the bounty from her garden.  With a positive outlook she draped the remaining plants with sheets to help them survive.

In our part of the country we don't get cold and stay cold.  There may be another frost tomorrow or it may be a week or two.  We have learned to keep the garden going as long as we can.  We have all kinds of peppers, turnips, tomatoes, and many greens. I even have green tomatoes growing in my worm bed!!!  Check here for the beginning of my worm bed.

The worm bed has progressed nicely and we have night crawlers and red worms handy if we decide to go fishing.  If not, they work the compost and multiply. The hefty volunteer tomato plants are large and healthy. I couldn't be prouder if I had grown them myself.
I have been playing with my blog on these cooler days instead of playing outside.  When the cold comes fast it takes a little adjustment on my part.  Be open with your opinion please and tell me if I need to return my blog to its previous state.

Hopefully I will be more creative another day.

I like the new look! Was afraid I had hit the wrong blog at first.
We had our first frost this morning. Hope it killed a bunch of bugs.

The top looks a little dark on my computer, so liked the one before it a bit better. But great photo subjects!

I was a bit confused too with total change, but it is wonderful. I also believe you are already creative!

we weren't quite as cold as you - no frost or freeze yet, but it definitely dropped into the high 30s one night. today it's in the 50s but the wind is sharp.

Love your new blog look. Makes me think maybe I should mess with mine!
I hope the garden plants make it through the cold. It's nice you can have the garden for that long.

I was sure hoping that little touch of cold was going to stay. But no, not that lucky. At least it is a bit cooler during the day. I've been working on my blog too..but just making a mess of it. I love the red background on yours. My biggest struggle is with widths..I can't figure that out for some reason. Duh! :)

I like it! I think it definitely reflects "You". And if you like it, that is what matters, because it needs to reflect the inner Gail.
I love Autumn, but Winter...now that one always throws me into a dark hole.
Hug.

I think your blog looks fine, Gail.
Congratulations on the success of your worm bed!

I need to convince hubby to leave one of our compost piles alone for worms, too. We have one out by the barn which always has worms when he turns it. I'd like to leave it there and maybe add small amounts to it.

I hear you on the weather, too. Have a great one!

My Mother said something to me a long time ago - "Change Is Good". I change my Blog Look every now and then, kinda like house cleaning. Its nice to see new paint on the walls or new pictures, etc. Love Den and his tractor.
I have never been in the need for a worm farm. WE have tons of healthy night crawlers in the back yard, so just pick em up the night before.
Well we had the Nor'Easter between Halloween and 1st of November - never had one of those so early before, but we got through it ok. Glad its warming up in your part of the world. Hello to folks n hugz to M :)

You think that if I say it often enough, it will eventually come true for me, too? Probably not. But a girl should dream, so...
