a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Fashion

I have none
Comfort is my goal
In warm weather I'm cool
In winter I avoid cold

You may find me in the grocery store
Wearing fuzzy shoes
Could be some pajamas
Every day or two

I must have elastic bands
And long and floppy shirts
Even a base ball cap
Doesn't hurt

Those days I don't comb my hair
My hat is my best friend
With a big smile
My garments don't offend

I'm at the age
I have no one to impress
Comfort is my king
I just don't care I guess

I hear a whisper
every now and then
"Oh, don't mind her
She's gone around the bend".

Haha! Yes, an ode to comfort in the age of no-reason-to-impress. Which is a fashion statement with no reason to color coordinate. That last bit refers to my own poem, with a less forgiving audience. Thanks for writing to our prompt, Gail.

no wonder we are sister/friends... this is ME.. totally ME... since the day i retired 9 years ago i have not put my feet in and uncomfy shoe, or worn hose or a dress or suit.. jeans, capris, t-shirts and sandals.. that is it.. i don't wear hats, because i have a large size head and they give me head aches.

Gail, fun poem...I'm in agreement with the hat hiding the hair that won't cooperate.

Now wait a minute you are the girl with Pink Boots remember? Now that's real fashion sense!

LOL! Just recently I wished I could wear my jammies all day. Your poem gives me permission! Looking forward to tomorrow! ;-)

Oh I COMPLETELY resonate with this poem. Fleece, comfort, not caring.....especially smile at the "she's gone around the bend." People appraise me with that same wary eye and I think to myself, "Ha, my work here is done!" LOL.

Well, I think even if a person says they have no style they do indeed have style. Perhaps one needs to ask another person, and that person could clearly define your style. I do think fashion changes from one time of life to another....but we all have ways we like to dress, and to me that is our own kind of fashion.

Yes, our personal fashion can cause people to say that.

Obviously you do have fashion sense, it matches mine! Comfort is the keyword, and avoiding tight things that poke and pinch and bind... and like you, I don't give a hoot who doesn't like it, I am happy being me! At our age we don't have to be eye candy! :-)
