a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

I Cover My Eyes

I cover my eyes
maybe
your trite words
will no longer
  bind my spirit
mind the spell
aimed at me
I sing
a butterfly
flying free
miles away
the land
holds
sign
of spring
You
no longer
have power
to scorch
to burn me
ring you chime
sing your lies
I do not hear
I cover my eyes
I have joined The Sunday Whirl Wordle 196 with the picture prompt from Magpie Tales.

You're the second person I've come across who is doing both the words and the picture prompts. I realized it as soon as I saw "trite." Interesting to see the different directions.

WORDS failed me when a SPELL took AIM and placed a butterfly on my face. My MIND is blown and MAYBE my SPIRIT will LAND my MIND in the land of CHIME..
HOOOOO HAAAA...please don't SCORCH me for making fun.

Grace,

I definitely can relate with this poem because there are plenty of things that I turn a blind eye to. Most of which are the attitudes of others being negative. Thank you for sharing this poem with us.

Gail, you did an excellent job with the words and picture prompt. Def some thoughts to ponder on here. Sometimes we choose not to see.

A brilliant use of both prompts. I'm missing out on Wordle this week for the first time in ages, but you did it proud.

That's telling him you can get on without him. Ssh! Don't tell a soul but we could do with some more stronger women.

To be able to sing the butterfly is a magical thing

I'm always amazed at how one can take those words and spring a poem to life that makes such sound images, I really liked how this read.
