White lightning,
Moon shine,
Corn liquor,
Stump water.
Stump Water as defined by UrbanDictionary In case you're interested in making this here is a link to tell you about all the basics. I've never made it myself but have made many gallons of wine at home. I personally know of no one making it in a stump. There are always tall tales when it comes to brewing a little shine.
It is now sold in liquor stores in fruit jars and it's Arkansas Moon Shine. It'll grow hair on your chest and cure what's ailing you.
Funny how things circle back around.

Love this. My Uncle had a still out in the woods and only made his for friends and parties. Yep, he said about just the same thing - "it'll grow hair on your chest and mostly cure what's ailing ya". If it doesn't cure whats ailing ya, it'll sure make ya feel better for a bit". Well there Missy, I am just going to have to try Arkansas Moon Shine. Cool Stump. H to M. lol
I am familiar with this, and have even drank some in my time...many, many moons ago.
never heard of the stump water, but have seen stumps with water in it like your photo. and that is what we call mosquito hole, we put Clorox or scoop it out. lids of trash cans, old pumps all kinds of things make a place for them to breed.
I can't believe I don't know about this. It does make me want to gag.
Does it count that I'm going to dress a rotting stump with flowers this year as in plant them in it?
Sounds kind of gross to me! But them I'm not a fan of the hard stuff.
never ever heard of stump water, but as I don't drink any alcohol, why would I have? Interesting term though, Stump Water. Never seen a real still set up, would love to though.

I understand if know who to ask, you can still buy the illegal stuff in my area. We are a dry county so you can't buy the legal stuff in stores.
never heard of 'stump water' before.
it's hip to be old-fashioned, sometimes. :)
sorry, I'm waaay too OCD for this. :o
Just this year, some guy got arrested down here for brewing moonshine!
Love the stump, but I've never heard of stump water either. All the others, yes. I've had moonshine years ago, but had no clue who had made it. I have one most annoying hair between my boobs (that I continuously pluck) and do believe that's where it came from!! Ha!! Must be true then. :)
I honestly haven't heard of it until today. :P
Thanks for sharing and increasing my knowledge. :)
Am I being too fussy when I say that looks quite unhygenic? LOL.

I have heard of moon shine, never had it though . . . at least I don't think I have. I have never hear of " Stump Water" though . . . do I dare ask what's in it?
I wouldn't drink that stump water though...
Can't say I've ever heard of this - but as the saying goes 'you live and learn'
I do like the two pictures though.
All the best Jan
Yuck on the stump water- no telling what creatures lurk there. HA My husband makes homemade wine..but I don't like it. Not much of a drinker, but if I were I would want it to at least taste good. I guess that's why I never liked beer either. I'm so square. :)
Not this is very interesting, and new to me! I have one stump that I'm using as my grandson's flower planter! His first flowers last summer....but this is really something to know. Stumps, what are they good for! Absolutely a whole bunch of stuff!
Interesting, not something I would try.
I love that they're selling it in fruit jars at liquor stores.
=)
