The crooked post used to be a gate anchor that automatically closed a gate with the weight of a chain. The gate is long gone but the pecan tree grew around the post. I didn't have the heart to cut it.
I anchored the hub cap there for bird seed.
The second piece is a meat tray on a pipe and cedar stump.
None of the Cardinals complained.

I've never seen such Cardinal parties!
Hello, I love the Cardinals and the hub cap feeder. Great fence shots. Have a happy day!
this might be the most cardinals in one shot i have ever seen. they are loving your feeders. i love the tree with the extension even if it did not hold the hubcap. this is really creative and looks great to me.
I always thought that one of their calls sounded like them bragging on themselves, saying "pretty bird, pretty bird!"
A true party! How beautiful! Love the fence!
Those Cardinals

Your party seems quite orderly. Mine is kind of chaotic with little birds going toe to toe with the big red machines.
We so far have had ice for the past few days. Tonight might bring a good dose of snow. Stay safe and warm.
Very clever to put the bird feeder there. I love these photos and your pretty cardinals. Have a great day :)
Brilliant Gail, just brilliant.
Those red cardinals are so pretty too, they are enjoying their party at the fence!
All the best Jan

They're such a a beautiful bird! Don't think we have them around here, but I've seen an occasional blue bird that looks a lot like that. I love your bird feeders...very ingenious!!

That works!
What a beautiful gathering of cardinals; your (and our) reward for good thinking and creativity!
Hey you have a Cardinal party happening like we do sometimes ! Wonderful photos Gail ! Here it is our Cardinals mating time as the males are all in a frenzy lol but the ladies aren't having any of it just yet lol ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
Pecan trees must like fences. We have a couple grown around fences, too.
Great photos, Gail! ♥
What a pretty coloured party
I think that is beautiful Gail. I would think I died and went to heaven to look out my door and see that. What an incredible sight. I love how it looks.
Bill remarked on all of the Cardinals he has been seeing from Missouri, through Oklahoma, and Arkansas. They are pretty.
Lucky you to see those beautiful red cardinals. They sure stand out. Neat idea for the feeder and I like the weathered look of your fencing.
The red cardinals are such a vibrant contrast to their surrounds. Beautiful capture.
Cardinals are beautiful in fact one flew in front of my car the other day on the way to work as I was viewing a rosy/purple sky.
Those beautiful cardinals seem to like the new dining spot. They are such a bright addition to a winter landscape.
I'm glad you left the post. I enjoy interesting things like that. When they are all removed it reminds me of clear cut land.
It is fun to see the birds find the seed no matter where we choose to put it.
Love the bird feeders! Beautiful Cardinals!
I see from your profile that you are in Melbourne, AR. We went to the Ozarks for our honeymoon many years ago. I remember driving down the mountain near Melbourne and seeing fog filling the valley below - a beautiful sight I'll never forget!
Thanks for your comment on my blog.
Have a great week-end!
