The leaves are gone but the sweet gum balls hang on.

I wish I could fly south with the geese. It's cold here and we had a trace of snow yesterday that is still here this morning.

You have geese flying south, we have geese, in the same formations, arriving from the north to spend winter in this area...must do a post on that!
Brrrr, it's freezing here today. Why the geese want to spend winter here beats me!

I agree with Gramma Ann. Fly me south please for the winter.

And I agree with Rudee-your photographs are top notch.

I love persimmons! I wait all year for them to show up in the store, just so I can pay a fortune for them and make persimmon cookies! When I lived in Calif. they were very easy to get, but not so here in Nevada! I made two batches of cookies last week...much to the delight of my hubby....=)

Our geese have flown south already. They are at the Med now, I'm sure. Hobnobbing with the jet-set on the Riviera.

I've never eaten a persimmon before. Do you harvest them from your trees?
Drat on those gum balls. I have bad memories from when I was kid and would run barefoot and hurt my poor feet on those evil spikey beasts. lol! gah!

You want to laugh? I read the title of the post, saw the first picture, and thought it was a really, really fat robin about to lay an awful big egg! Then I read that it was a persimmon. What the heck is wrong with me today? LOL!
