a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Oh, The Embarrassment....

It was a cool moonlit night,
(I always wanted to start a story like that).
We arrived at the dreaded WALMART my list in hand we parted at the door.  Hubby asked, Where are you going?  I said grab your own cart and we will meet.

I speed shop.  I had a list.  I don't dawdle I get it done.  Then I began to look for the lost males.  No luck so I checked out thinking maybe they were at the truck.  Wrong guess, you would think it would be.  I had the list they were just shopping.

I thought they would stay together.  Again I am wrong. Now both of these gentlemen have cell phones.  I don't.  I have pushed my full cart to the truck and no one was there.  I don't have a key so I push the heavy laden cart back inside.  No sight of them anywhere along the check out line.  I ask a employee if they could page someone.  Nope, can't leave this spot.  I said, OK, no problem but I bet my face said different words.  Shortly the employee asked the name again.

I spy Hubby looking lost, tagged him and he called Andrew on his cell.  Andrew said, "That was so not cool, Papa!!!"  Hubby is puzzled because he doesn't know what is going on.  I had Andrew paged!!!
It was so much fun I may page him every trip.
Yep, sounds like a good plan to me.

Every time I go to Wal-mart, I go with a list. I truly hate shopping there, it's always busy with impatient/pushy people.
That's because it's the only decent place to shop for groceries in this small town.
When I grocery shop, I go a town over to get good grocery deals.
Yes, page Andrew everytime your in Wal-mart. Hehehehehe!!!!

Oh, I am laughing so hard I'm gonna fall over. This is too funny and I can share the frustration of losing someone in the mall. Time and time again when we go shopping, if I turn to look at something the other party is GONE. One day I had had enough of trying to search and just stood up on a chair in the mall and shouted as loud as I could "Rosie, Where are YOU" - I got 3 responses. One girl that worked there was Rosie, another older lady was called Rose and my cousin also answered. Everyone else around me laughed, thinking I had escaped from an institution. ha,ha It did not embarrass me at all, but Rosie's face was red and then we had a good laugh. So, to all of you that disappear - I will just shout your name till I find you. I might add that the paging system was down that day as well, so I used my own. ha,ha Loved this post Gail and its happened to everyone at least once.:)

i do the same thing, speed shop, list in hand i fly up and down speed walking and throwing things in the basket. i hate when bob goes with me because he always gets lost.
my son and his wife went to WM years ago, 11 pm at night. he could not find her. instead of paging her, he drove home and got his cell phone and drove back to the store and called her on her cell. i said why didn't you page her? he said didnt think about it.

That'll teach 'em. They DO sell those walky-talky things - I've seen couples use them in Sam's Club and such. Maybe you need to get a pair of those - it's cheaper than a phone. Better yet - don't bring those guys along - they seem like more trouble and they didn't help you with anything! :)

serves 'em right for dawdling. :)

It's a good thing to always carry your cell phone into the store! Fun story...

Oh I bet he was a bit grumpy. I thought it was funny that you feel about Wal Mart like I do, I would rather do anything than go there but you just have to sometimes.
You are so funny.

Hello,

I just found your blog, via John Gray.

This post is so funny, as I've been in the same boat so many times. Paging could definitely sort it..

You need to tag them with GPS tracking devices. Finding them will become quite simple.

As for Walmart? I hate those megastores. Not just Walmart, but all of them.

If you changed the names, and eliminate the paging, I could have written this blog post! It happens all the time. I need to get a leash for at least one male in my household!

Hehe.
I don't speed shop. Hubby does.
I usually end up not getting most of what was on my list because of it. ;o)
We are getting a little bit of rain. Thunder and lightning.
Have a good evening, Gail!

Yet another great Wally World adventure!!!

I once left my Mom and my very young Geek Son together in the toy department. As I was 'speed shoppin' myself I heard my Mom paged as a lost Grandmother. Geek Son had Mom paged!!! Heeehehehehe!

God bless and have a marvelous day sweetie!
