Fall In The Valley

Autumn has arrived
but don't tell the flowers.
They think it's spring.
The trees know it's not.

I can tell you live a little farther south.....our flowers are gone and most of the leaves.

It seems most of the trees on the farm don't have your brilliant colors but there are a few sassafras here and there to brighten up the browns and golds.

Just a tad chilly here today, with a drop in temp to -10. Ice is beginning to solidfy on the pond, which means skating on pond maybe before too much longer. Flowers are gone, trees are bare, Holiday Lights are springing up alll over town - starting to look real pretty. We go out for drive after supper to see what lights/decorations have been added and then hot chocolate @ Timmies . Aah well, Spring is just around the corner. ha,ha

My silly orange tree thinks it is spring and is covered in blossoms. I guess it was a weird year. It is nice your sister watches out for tractor man. I know what
that grease on the implement is. Gosh that stuff is messy. Every time my husband uses it he gets it everywhere. You photos are lovely.

I love the floral stragglers. Last winter was so mild, we had plants that survived all season. It was a nice break, but we're so dry here, I find myself hoping for a real winter with measurable snow.

I think that my flowers here in northern Virginia are confused too! Our temps are supposed to be 60 this weekend--Old Man Winter needs to come back!

We had morning glories last month, but I haven't seen any this month.
Just the numerous wildflowers that I think bloom all year.

Great pictures!

I'm voting with the trees. Those flowers are a mixed up bunch.
