a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Susie Homemaker...

has possessed my body and is trying to turn me into a cook.  Help!  She must be exorcised!!!
Bought this book years ago for Hubby.
We truly enjoyed watching Justin Wilson cook on tv.
Hubby never used it.
I on the other hand found a favorite bread recipe.
Used to make bread a lot.
I haven't forgotten how.
I did forget how to make the loaves equal.
Not one person complained.

Your bread looks great!

I just made three loaves using the 3x rising method.

I try to keep the loaves even by using a small digital kitchen scale.

I don't think it really matter that much. I always say the taste is what counts.

Now if you only had a bread maker on hand to use . . .

One of the best smells in the world is bread baking in the oven. My mom used to bake bread - 4 to 5 loaves in a day. It would take her all day, between the kneading and the rising, etc. There was nothing better than warm home-made bread with butter. My mouth is watering!

Justin was a dear family friend and regular visitor to my parent's home.
My husband loves to tell the story that the sickest he ever got was eating a leg of mutton over at my parent's with Justin : ) He would be so touched that so many still enjoy his recipes!

The way that Justin Wilson pronounced onion and worchestershire sauce was the high light of an episode of his cooking show. I used to love to watch.
Your bread looks wonderful. Gonna start our preps in just a while for Turkey day.
Have a super celebration and enjoy the good eats. xoxoxo Oma Linda

Don't worry - the curse won't last much longer than the wonderful bread - if you are anything like me.

Great job their Susie! Your bread looks delicious. There is truly nothing better than homemade bread. I love how it sends this omg aroma through the house while it bakes. I see my favorite bowl :-)

I bet it was so much better than a machine made bread, too. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.
