a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Well, I'm Not Dead...

just sore, bruised, saw-dusted and spider-webbed.  My left ankle is swollen and my right knee doesn't want to work but I am closer to being  finished with this second room.
One thing I've learned is I'm not Bob The Builder happily whistling about his work while his smiling equipment cheerfully helps.  Nope, not Bob The Builder. My equipment is not smiling and I'm lucky if it works at all.

This is a small room less than fourteen week square but it has been my curse for almost two weeks now.  The plum room was a piece of cake.  This room has not been.  The floors were just good enough to give me problems removing them.
The floor joists have 16 inches on center perfectly every time.  Many times that was all that saved me from falling through.  My hips are wider than sixteen inches.  I would hang and just bob there like a fishing cork on water.

I've also learned I do not want a second job as a high wire artist nor as a balance beam Olympian.  I have little boards laid cross the  2 x 6's and travel carefully hauling the old wood to my pile on the front porch.  There is no simple, easy way to do this.  I just must get it done.

Hubby comes in and watches me, offers advice and tools but turns and leaves again.

Never fear. I shall persevere and complete my task, although not in a timely manner,  it will be completed.  I shall cheer and rejoice in the completed room.

Much like the forgotten pain of childbirth this pain will soon be forgotten.  I'll have another project in the works as soon as the swelling goes down.

Gail, I have a hubby like that....he is better to help now but usually projects in the house were mine!

Sounds like a very hefty project. I haven't done one of those in year.

Looking forward to seeing it finished and I know you are too!

Ready in time for Thanksgiving?

I had to make you smile a bit . . .

You might not be Bob the Builder but one thing is for sure, a tenacious spirit lives within . . .

Carry on my friend . . .

I have no doubt you'll get this project completed. We are women hear us roar. What worries me is how much you know about Bob--The Builder.

You're doing a mighty fine job Gail. I'm going to call you Mrs. Fix It, ;-)

Don't let this room get the best of you. I believe our knee's like to fight us when work needs to be done, they become stubborn as we get older (mines a little puffy today).

Truthfully, I think you're getting the best of this room. Look around there isn't to much to finish up.

Take it easy there! Your hubby sounds like mine. Only mine usually doesn't arrive until after I'm done. The image of you bobbing like a fishing cork had me rolling. Sorry but I'm extremely accident prone so accidents make me laugh. Otherwise I would be crying all the time. :-) Can't wait to see the finished project!

It won't be forgotten if you get a lasting injury, so be careful.
Hope you have a blessed weekend.

My hubby is like Junebug's....only he arrives after I am putting away the tools and says, "oh, is there anything I can do?" I usually resist what I really want to say.
So glad that you are in the land of the living and that your are getting done what you want done. You are most certainly not Bob the Builderm ge a kuttke short plastic guy....and you are a strong, determined woman......better deal all the way around. Oma LInda

I think I shall hire you to come help me with my "room" project. No floors to replace, just painting and decorating. I'm not much of a painter and my decorating skills...are very lacking!

Take care and let hubby haul to the porch, leaving you to work (in peace)?
*hugs* ♥
