a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

This N That...

Lil and I have the same bit of laziness.  I haven't started laying down to eat but neither Hubby nor I are rested from the past week.  The new diet is pretty easy but takes longer to prepare.  Seems I spend much more time in the kitchen.
Playing with rocks
Rebuilding the water garden
and watching things rust.

Gail,

You've had a very hard stressful week, you're allowed to be lazy!!!

Making meals from scratch with no salt can be extremely time consuming.

Love the rock, the ones in the bucket are the ones you found recently?

Lil looks pretty tired! Diet changes are rough- I had to do that when dh was diagnosed with diabetes. I don't shop the middle aisles of the grocery store anymore, though!

Lil is a smart dog.
Eventually you'll get the hang of the new diet and it won't take as long to prepare. Just think how healthy both of you will be!

I hear weariness in your writer voice.

My daughter's kitty eats and drinks lying down. It's funny.

I too know about those diet changes and the time it takes to do an everyday thing much differently. . . you deserve some time to feel lazy and to play with the rocks and stuff!

Probably having to cut back on that bread and buttery stuff too, huh?

Traumatic events always leave me exhausted. I don't blame you for want to watch things rust!

Fixing food a new way is kinda tricky at first but soon it will be old hat to ya. Play with the rocks and enjoy the peace, you deserve that. Take a moment for you. Oma Linda

Diet changes are a huge hassle!

I'm so lazy lately, I feel like I'm watching myself rust!

Just rest doing what you like. You have both been through such a ordeal.
I like it when you take photos of your water garden.

Just take care of yourself and each other.

Seems like healthy food always takes longer to prepare. Why is that??

=)

PS. Get as much rest as you can, both of you have been through a lot!

You sure get your share of comments. It's amazing how far down I have to scroll to get to the box. Are you popular or something?

I hope you and your husband are doing well and that the diet agrees with everyone. I bet it's a very healthy way to eat. You guys will be in shipshape in no time at all.

Changes in diet and eating are always a challenge at first, but once you get it down, it won't take long to whip stuff up!

I agree on the laying down part to eat! I've been so busy the last few weeks that by the time I sit to eat, I just want to tip over!

Oh yes, I remember your post of taking it all apart to rebuild. It looks like you might make it bigger, or use bigger rocks too? Can't wait to see your finished garden!

I noticed the increase in time spent in food prep when my husband's diabetes started.

Give yourself mini-breaks and time for walks around your beautiful land.

It's called listening to your body ... Not lazy

Hope you both can get plenty of rest.
I watch things rust, too; and find rusted things that we have no idea what they are.

*hugs* ♥ God bless.

ha,ha - when my brother David wags a wee boy, my Mom found him and Sandy our dog eating out of the same dish - I think David was two at the time - I was sitting on the couch watching them and laughing to myself. Back then, Dogs got a bowl of a mixture of whatever you were having for supper. Our dogs never ate "Dog Food" and never got sick.
I rarely use salt or pepper when cooking - I take advantage of the vegetables, the onions and the flavour of whatever meat, fish etc I am cooking and might put a dash of pepper on my potatoes before eating - it scares me to see the amount of salt and sugar lining the shelves of the grocery store in just about everything you buy, whether its boxed or canned and today it all seems to come from some foreign country where health standards are not so good. I read every label and usually put it back on the shelf - and most of the time the labels lie anyway. Grow our own, hunt and fish the way it used to be and a lot healthier for all. It's really difficult to cut back on certain items or cut them out all together, but you will figure it all our and in no time at all be cooking up a storm of tasty delights.
