Lunenburg Skirmish...Two of Three

and there were children
and fathers
and grandfathers
and sons

I do not condemn nor condone the actions
None of us can know what really transpired.
May we learn from our past
so we will not repeat it in our future.

I doubt that mankind will ever learn the horrible mistakes of war, but we can always hope.

The loss of life was extraordinary. After touring Civil War sites around Franklin, Tenn, and learning of the number killed that day in a matter of hours...it was staggering. I'll have to post pics of that trip we took a few weeks ago. Your pics are very good. Did any of your family participate in the re-enactment?

I love the new look!

Your photos are great of the re-enactment. I like the smoke in the air from gunshots, and the running horses. Cool!

They must be roasting in those uniforms. The pictures are great, Gail. Thanks for the food for thought.

And Ninny, Antietam would take your breath away with over 23,000 casualties in one day.
