Figure Eight, 1952, by Franz Kline
ART
What do we see in art?
Do the pieces make a whole
Or is it only parts?
First I see the Figure Eight
Because I'm told
That's what this makes.
Then I look closer still
And see a mad man
Armed to kill.
I look again and I see
A smiling face
Looking at me.
Art imitates life they say
It's all in the perception
What's your choice today?

nicely done.
excellent...great job pointing out the other things in the pic...we find what we look for in art often...and often miss the minute....very cool... made me look at it again...
I saw a woman in a corset...but couldn't think of anything to write..no Mag for Laurel today.
i found what you saw, but not the corset
i love zooming in on things too!! great photography technique
dark feathers dead crows
I tend to see faces too...love this!
I saw messy oriental writing...
Well Lord knows I've seen enough armed mad men this week. I'll take the figure 8.
Nice poem :-) good play on the personal perceptions

This is a stunning notion ...and I so like the smiling face best of all!
Reality in perception, always. Very nice!!
Ah well done. I didn't look so didn't see - now I do! Thank you.

I absolutely love the way you did this! Taking pieces of the picture! I agree...same picture different words...all perception of the same thing!
I love what you did with this. And what you helped me see.
