Dalton and Andrew have been friends since early elementary school. Dalton's family moved to Siloam Springs which is about four hours away. Andrew and Dalton try to get together during spring break and the summer. The half way meeting point is Harrison.
The Norfork Dam was closed Monday so our route was changed. On our return trip we explored the
Wolf House in Norfork, Arkansas.
The buildings were works of art, all hand-hewn timbers and quite fancy for the times. The Dogtrot is a feature I would be tempted to include if I ever build another house.
Located at the junction of two rivers, the view was breathtaking.
The back of Wolf House is as amazing as the front.

Gail, Good morning early bird. I love the Wolf House. Can you imagine living in this home back in time? Did the boys enjoy themselves?
Love those old houses like that ; ) Like you I think that a dogtrot would be so convenient...someplace to shell beans, store firewood, hang laundry when it rains!
What a beautiful spot, nice houses. Wouldn't mind staying in a cabin like that for a while far far away from the city life [me don't like it].

Sweetie, are ya'll OK...did ya escape any problems of the storms last night.
I was cookin' supper and Farm Boy was in the shower when the sky turned that puck green color. I flipped on the tube and a tornado was travelin' 70mph just a few miles away headed straight for us. Yep, it came and went 'bout that fast.
I dumped 5.5" outta the rain gauge this mornin' and it's still comin' down. The creeks are massive.
Anyway...I pray you and yours are OK!

That is amazing. I wish I could see that in person. What works of art and what a pretty place that is. Last night my husband and I were looking at his trees and we have a Black Walnut coming up. It is already about 2 inches tall. It looks real pretty so far. I just had to tell you.

What a great place to stop. Love the old buildings..and the dogtrot feature would be great..on rainy days..and on hot days..but I bet it would fill up with snow up here in Minnesota. So the youngins put hot sauce in your tea..I cannot wait to hear what you surprise them with:)

What beautiful buildings!
We lived in an old home in SC that predated the Civil War. It was originally a hunting cabin. There was a wide central hallway between two large rooms. We often thought that originally that central hallway was an open dogtrot.
You KNOW how I am. No doubt at all that he was there waving..no so sure..but certainly keeping an eye out. :)

Wow. I might even give up the ocean to live there! I love the house and the view truly is spectacular! Maybe we could move the ocean closer...hmmm...LOL
