I Must Have A Camera Like Lisa's

The full moon was amazingly beautiful with the clouds around it. I carefully set my camera for night shots. I tried to hold it still, I really did, I even propped my arms on the car to hold it steady. Alas, no luck. This blob of ectoplasm looking stuff in my full moon shot.
Lisa at Laughing Orca Ranch has an amazing camera and she has taken moon shots. By no stretch of the imagination does my shot look like a moon. On the other hand, Lisa's is fantastic.
You can kinda see in this one, the photo possibilities but again I did not get it right.

Maybe this would make a wonderful modern art collection but I would have preferred it to look like a moon.
Help, Lisa, send me your camera info!

You just have shaky arms. You need a tripod.

lol! You're so sweet! I kind like those photos. They have an odd, lava lamp like look to them. Cool!

This is what I do for nighttime moon shots: I lean my hands on something solid, usually my balcony railing, then I turn on some kind of light BEHIND me, like my porch light and then aim....focus...then shoot quickly. One photo of ten turns out the way I want it, too, so be prepared to take lots of photos. lol!

Oh, and my camera is a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS. Just a simple point and shoot.

Oh, and I never use the Night selection when I take moon shots. I just use Auto and let the camera figure it out. lol!

Turn off the car before leaning on it - it vibrates when it's running which will blur your photos...and when you put the camera on 'night', it slows the shutter way down so you must hold it still longer yet...one thing about moon photos, you can always try again next month...
